Is OnChat free?
Yes. You may chat for free as a member or a guest.
What is OnChat? Click on the Info link.
How do I become a member?
Go to OnChat. At the top of the page and click on "Register". Fill out the form and click on "I Agree".
Be sure to type in your correct e-mail address in case you forget your password (which happens often) so you can get your password.
I forgot my password, how can I get it? Click here.

 
Does OnChat work with AOL?

OnChat does not work well with some versions of AOL. Please try running Microsoft Internet Explorer outside of AOL. To do this:

  1. Log onto the Internet with AOL.
  2. Start Internet Explorer from the startbar on your computer.
  3. Goto OnChat.com using Internet Explorer.
Does OnChat work with Macintosh?
OnChat does not work well with older Macintosh systems. OnChat uses a computer language called Java, which does not work well on a Mac. Mac OS 8.6 has a much improved version of Java. Please consider upgrading.
Does OnChat work with Web TV?
Sorry, our avatar chat does not work with Web TV or Sega Dreamcast. You could however use our HTML chat.
How do I change my e-mail?
  1. Go to OnChat.
  2. On the top, click on "My OnChat"
  3. Login with your username and password.
  4. Click on "Member Profile".
  5. There, you can change your e-mail. Please be sure to click on "Update" when you're done!
Someone got into my file and changed my password, what do I do?
  1. Go to www.OnChat.com/forgotpw.php3
  2. Type in your e-mail address to get the new password
  3. Once you received the new password through e-mail,
  4. Once on "My OnChat", click on Member Profile and change the password.

Tip: The best passwords have at least one number and one capital letter in them.
How do I change my password?
  1. Login to "My OnChat".
  2. Click on "Member Profile".
  3. Scroll down to find the "Change Password" section.
  4. Type your old password and type in the new password you wish to have. Please be sure to click on "Update" when you're done.
Where is my avatar page?
  1. Go to www.OnChat.com
  2. Look at the top of your page and click on "Members"
  3. Login with your username and password.
  4. On your My OnChat page, click on "My Avatars".
Where do I find some cool avatars?
Click on "Avatars". You can use any avatar you like, in the Avatar Exchange.
How do I get my own room?
  1. Go to your member page, to get there, go to www.OnChat.com and click on "Members".
  2. Click on the link marked "rooms".
  3. Click on the link marked "click here to create a new room".
How do I unlock my room?
  1. Go to "My OnChat", and select "My Rooms".
  2. Look at your rooms and click the lock symbol that appears underneath the room you wish to unlock.
  3. Click on "Unlock Room".
How do I make my room for only certain people to enter it?
  1. Go to "My OnChat and select "My Rooms".
  2. Look at your rooms and click the lock symbol that appears on the bottom of every room.
  3. Type in the name of the person(s) you want to only enter the room and then click on "Add User"
  4. Click Lock Room.
How do I unsubscribe to the mailing list of the Newsletter?
  1. Go to "My OnChat" and select "Member Profile".
  2. Click on "OnChat Newsletter" and select unsubscribe.
